ABOUT NESSIE ABROAD

Hikes, travel and writing have always been the most important pillars of my life. When I was 21 years old, I bid goodbye to my home country and ever since have traveled (and hiked) the globe extensively.

Nessie, that's me, the nickname having stuck around since I first got to meet Nessie in Scotland as a kid. I always wondered if Nessie would like to travel and see new Lochs and henceforth made it my mission to do exactly that in her name.

Combining both my passion for the outdoors as well as writing, this personal blog sort of came together over the years and the articles I'd written on my travels were only published years after my visit. I do think you will still be able to enjoy them, however, and get some inspiration for your next adventure!

Please note that I am not a professional hiking guide, so please always check the information you find here - I want you to stay safe on your travels, so you can tell others about them! Most of all, know your limits and keep in mind that whether or not you make it to a peak does not define your worth as a being or hiker. The most important thing is that you enjoy the trail!

You will find different sections on my webpage, and this is because I like to write about both travel and hiking, but also short stories and poems.
